Rachel Johnston (b. 1983) is a British artist working between Portugal and the UK. She holds a BA (Hons) in Photography from Falmouth College of Art (2006) and an MA in Printmaking from Camberwell College of Arts (2012).
Her studio practice explores the language of the handmade working across ceramics, printmaking, collage and drawing. Rooted in material process and the rhythms of daily life, her work reflects on the strength and vulnerability of both the human body and the natural world.
Beyond her individual practice, Rachel is co founder of Studio Raggedy alongside artist Catarina Viana. Studio Raggedy is a Lisbon based art studio producing commissioned pieces informed by their complementary practices.
